What We Believe
The Inquiry-Based Learning Institute’s Creed
We believe that inquiry-based learning complements traditional forms of learning. It’s not “one or the other”. A synergy exists between the two that truly results in learning that is more powerful than either alone.
We believe that incorporating inquiry into the teaching and learning process will ultimately improve test scores in schools through enhanced thinking and reasoning.
We believe that the educator can be the teacher and the learner; we believe the student can be the learner and the teacher.
We believe that inquiry-based learning leads to more collaborative learning and problem solving.
We believe that inquiry-based learning better prepares students for higher grades, college, and the workplace.
We believe that inquiry-based learning can result in new knowledge created at all levels of individual professional development of formal and informal educators.
